Andy Juhl has returned with his second solo album of folk-rock gems titled "Tales from the Buffalo Blue Stem." Each song contains a story. The haunting banjo chords in "Send the Rain" set the tone for the tale of a farmer struggling through the Dust Bowl. "An Unknown Friend" explores the troubled mind of a burned out soldier. A conniving old man with a little secret is the protagonist of "Umbrella Man." "Feeling Bliss" is the story of an all-night jam session, while "We Belong to the Earth" is a catchy, environmentally conscience tune that will surely have your foot tapping. The songs have an old-school feel that brings to mind Neil Young or The Band. No studio trickery or layered overdubs, just Andy with a tight group of talented musicians sitting down together to play some quality music.
